ABOUT OBEDIENCE

Obedience training is basically learning how to successfully communicate with your dog through use of your spoken words and body language, while at the same time learning how to understand your dog's body language.

The best cure for most misbehaviors is basic obedience. If you can train your dog to work for you, on and off the lead regardless of distractions, then you can overcome almost any behavior problem.

The most important aspect of training is learning to communicate with each other. Your dog learns what you desire from him/her and he/she learns to show loyalty and love for you by pleasing you.

Training your dog gives him/her an occupation (something to think about, look forward to, and expand his/her intellectual abilities) and produces understanding and discipline. This understanding between you and your dog is very important for a well-adjusted animal. When your dog understands what you want, he/she will do their best to please you in order to keep you happy.

While you train your dog, you will learn to recognize his/her behaviors and the reason for them. This will help you both develop an understanding, harmonious relationship.

Dogs appreciate structure and consistency. They are creatures of habit and are willing and able to learn. Every dog is trainable, regardless of its age, if approached in the appropriate way.
