ADVANCED CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULES

Continuing Competition Class  NEW CLASS!  Register Now!
Class Fee $95*
Classes are 50-60 minutes long and meet once a week for 6 weeks.

  • If you're getting ready for competition, this is the class for you.
  • AKC Rules and regulations will be emphasized for the new competitor.
  • Beginner Novice (BN) / Novice (CD) exercises will be taught and fine tuned.
  • Pre-requisite Beginner 1 and 2 and an interest in competition.
  • Maximum class size is 6 students. Minimum class size is 4 students.

Students must have a plastic dumbbell for class. NOTE: These are hard to find locally — plan on 2 week delivery. There are several places on line that carry them, including: http://www.jjdog.com.

NEW CLASS: Beginner Utility Class
Class Fee $120 for 8, 1 hour classes

  • Dogs are not required to have CD or CDX titles to take this class.
  • Requirements for taking this class are:
    • Handlers to have some show experience with this dog or a previous dog.
    • Be able to retrieve a Dumbbell (minimum - take it from the floor and hold it)
  • This class is to learn the Articles of Utility Competition and Scent Games.
  • Limit 8 per class

Cross-training "Whatever" Class  NEW CLASS!  Register Now!
Class Fee $95*
Classes are 50-60 minutes long and meet once a week for 6 weeks.
**Friday evening Whatever Classes are 4 weeks long and $65

  • Prerequisite: Completion of Beginners Level 2 and CGC earned.
  • Whether you are competition bound (obedience, rally, agility, flyball, freestyle, etc.) or not, we encourage continuing with your dog's training and this is a Fun class for both dogs and handlers.
  • The goal of this class is to fine tune your dog's obedience skills, work on Proofing, Honoring, Attention, Impulse Control, Confidence, Body Awareness, Coordination, Teamwork, learning new skills and "Whatever" else we can come up with to make training Fun and Enjoyable.
  • This class will expand upon what your dog has already learned by including on-leash and off-leash work, stays and recalls with unusual circumstances thrown in, find-it, back-up, turns, fronts, feet-up, rapid fires, jumping, hip rolls, cue proofing, distraction work with strange props, trading dogs when safe, problem solving, etc. (If a class dog has a particular challenge, exercises will be introduced to help the dog overcome its challenge.)
  • Excessive force will not be allowed in this class.
  • Maximum class size is 8 dogs; minimum class size is 6 dogs.

NEW CLASS: Utility Competition Class
Class Fee $120 for 8, 1 hour classes

  • Prefer dogs to have a CD and have skills needed to earn a CDX.
  • Requirements for taking this class are being able to work an Article pile of Leather and Metal.
  • Dogs must also have basic start on all other Utility skills.
  • Limit 6 per class
