FLYBALL CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULES

Skills Class Passing Register Now! Class Fee $65* Classes are 50 minutes long and meet once a week for 4 weeks.
- This four-week class is designed for dogs that are actually racing in flyball tournaments or dogs in flyball 3 that need more work on passing.
- All students are expected to crate their dogs during class and help with working other dogs.
- Everyone in this class helps with tearing down the course at the end of class.
- For dogs 1 year or older.
- Dogs are trained using a buckle collar, martingale collar or flyball harness and a four-six foot lead.
- This class uses only positive training methods and positive reinforcement (no correction or punishment) and will include many training tips.
- You will attend WITH your dog all 4 class sessions.
- Emphasis will be on developing the best box turn for each dog using props and assists.
- Maximum class size is 8 dogs; minimum class size is 4 dogs.

Flyball One Register Now!
Class Fee $95* Classes are 60 minutes long and meet once a week for 6 weeks.
- This class is designed for dogs that have already had some training either obedience classes, the really reliable recall, agility training or the flyball aptitude class. Dogs taking this class will start learning the flyball course
- Topics include: what constitutes a good pass, how to call passes, timing your dog's approach to the start finish line, determining where to let your dog go and maintaining consistency.
- For dogs 5 months or older.
- Dogs are trained using a buckle collar, martingale collar or flyball harness and a four-six foot lead.
- This class uses only positive training methods and positive reinforcement (no correction or punishment) and will include many training tips.
- You will attend WITH your dog all 6 class sessions.
- Basic behaviors taught include jumping on command, passing another dog, starting the box turn and focusing on the handler in chaotic situations.
- Maximum class size is 8 dogs; minimum class size is 4 dogs.

Advanced Flyball Register Now!
Class Fee $80* Classes are 60 minutes long and meet once a week for 8 weeks.
- This ONGOING eight-week class is designed to pull together all the skills from builds Flyball.
- Dogs need to have completed Flyball 1 and have the instructor's recommendation for this class.
- Topics include: better passes, increased box turn work, teams running side-by-side, handling dogs in the run-back area, box loading, pass calling and team building.
- Please bring your dog's crate or plan to use one of SOTC's crates as needed during the class.
- Handlers in this class are expected to learn the set-up and tear-down of the flyball course and help with this each week.
- This class uses only positive training methods and positive reinforcement (no correction or punishment) and will include many training tips.
- You will attend WITH your dog all 8 class sessions.
- Basic behaviors taught include jumping on command, passing another dog, starting the box turn and focusing on the handler in chaotic situations.
